Persephone

Persephone was the daughter of Zeus and Demeter (Styx was her mother by a different account). When Hades fell in love with Persephone, he conspired with his brother ( Zeus) to kidnap her when her mother was not around. This occurred when she was picking flowers near Etna in Sicily. Although Zeus later demanded Persephone's return to the world above she was by then tied to the Underworld forever. Nonetheless, Zeus decided that she should share her time between the Underworld and the world above.
